At the STV Children’s Appeal, we are committed to helping children and families that need support across Scotland, by funding projects across the country that provide essential support. Read on to hear about the way we have supported some brilliant charities this year.
The Community & Youth Hub run by Glasgow Kelvin College is a vibrant project that provides a safe and welcoming environment to both children and parents alike, allowing them to take part in a range of activities and enjoy a free meal four evenings each week from two of their campuses.
The Hub is open to communities across the North of Glasgow. They offer full access to their fitness suite, and outdoor activities such as kayaking, BMX, and football, as well as vocational learning opportunities and qualifications in a range of subjects, including hairdressing, beauty, and catering. It’s also a place for people to relax and unwind as a family. The community spirit behind the hub is what really makes it special for the participants, staff and volunteers that have made it a success.
